The Full Story

About

Talitha, the founder of Stoked Surf Fitness, first tried surfing at 16. As a dedicated soccer player at the time, she found surfing physically demanding. Without a role model or guidance on scaling exercises, she struggled—especially with push-ups—eventually giving up, frustrated by the lack of ways to train on land while away from the beach.

Fast forward a few years, and the concept for Stoked Surf Fitness was born in 2013. By then, Talitha had completed a degree in Sports & Exercise Science and qualified as a surf instructor. While teaching, she noticed many women struggled with upper-body strength, which often delayed their surfing progress. She was inspired to help, knowing that many aspiring surfers were landlocked, unsure where to start, and confused about the right exercises to build strength for the waves.

Having faced her own injuries through years of playing multiple sports, Talitha developed a strong interest in rehabilitation. Unsatisfied with her knowledge of injury prevention and recovery, she went on to earn a Master’s in Sports Rehabilitation and a second degree in Physiotherapy. This allowed her to work with athletes and sports teams at all levels, from amateur to professional. After further seasons of surf instructing and studying, her vision for Stoked Surf Fitness continued to grow and evolve.

Now, with great excitement, Stoked Surf Fitness is here to help women train on land so they’re ready to hit the waves with confidence. The Stoked Surf Program is designed to reduce injury risk, improve surf-specific fitness, enhance mobility, and build the strength and power needed for surfing—all backed by exercise science, with no gimmicks or fads.

Mission

Stoked Surf Fitness delivers exercise science backed online programs to decrease injury risk, increase mobility, endurance and strength specifically for surfing aimed at woman. This empowers woman to have the physical preparedness to perform their best and enjoy the waves. No fads, no quick challenge, just science, no bullish*t. 

Vision

We want to create a worldwide community of woman, to be an industry leader in helping woman worldwide stop guessing what training they need to do to help their surfing, to not feel restricted by their body and enjoy surfing to the maximum.
